(WCRC) is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Light
Truck Driver. As a Light Truck Driver for WCRC you would perform
manual labor in the operation of light to heavy duty trucks and
motorized equipment to repair and maintain trunkline, primary/local

Policy. Schedule Winter schedule: Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to
3:30 p.m. with potential for overtime. May be required to work
"double shifts for up to 16 hours in winter storm events. Summer
schedule: Monday through Thursday, 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with
potential for overtime. Required to be on call 24 hours, 7

what the WCRC can offer you. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS An
employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of
the following essential duties: (These examples do not include all
of the duties which the employee may be expected to perform.
Operates trucks and equipment in the performance of winter
maintenance operations. Performs manual labor; digs ditches; cleans
and installs culverts; removes debris from roadway and shoulders;
prepares potholes, cracked, and broken pavement for patching; loads
and unloads tools, equipment and materials. Acts as a traffic
regulator for road maintenance crews; directing traffic around
hazards or work areas, and setting up temporary road signs, traffic
cones, and barricades at work sites. Operates trucks, trailers and
related equipment; hauls and dumps road maintenance and repair
materials, including asphalt, rock, liquid asphalt, aggregates and
culvert pipes; loads and transports road equipment. Uses chain
saws, skid steers, chippers and related equipment to remove and/or
trim fallen and existing trees and brush. Conducts
pre-trip/post-trip inspections, minor servicing, adjustment and
maintenance on vehicles and equipment and assists shop staff with
minor repairs and adjustments. Performs crack seal operations that
involve guiding emulsion wands over cracks in the roadway; fills
cracks with hot bituminous emulsion and shovels stone chips from
back of vehicle. Keeps assigned vehicles and equipment clean,
orderly and equipped with necessary tools and supplies. Records
materials, supplies, time and equipment used for each work project
for proper billing or record keeping. REQUIREMENTS Qualified
individuals will be expected to have: One (1) year of experience in
highway maintenance, highway or building construction, farming,
forestry or landscaping or any labor intensive work experience that
directly involves the skills required to operate machinery, small
tools, power tools, vehicles and equipment. A high school diploma
or equivalent. A valid Michigan Class B Commercial Driver's License
(CDL) with no restrictions (excluding "K") and an "N" (tank)
endorsement. Must be able to respond within one hour for a
call-in.
