Job Description Job Description Job Title: CNC Setup Machinist Job Description Take full responsibility for programming, setting up, and operating 3-axis and 5-axis CNC milling machines to complete a variety of one-off and custom projects. You will work with materials such as metal, plastic, and composites. Responsibilities Program CNC machines from scratch using CAD/CAM software, primarily WorkNC, and occasionally HyperMILL. Program controls to produce high-precision components using Heidenhain, Fanuc, and Fidia controls. Create part models and generate toolpaths for CNC machining. Set up machines, including tooling and fixturing, based on project requirements. Ensure quality and accuracy of machined parts through inspection and adjustments as needed for first-run parts and sample workpieces. Essential Skills 3 years of experience in CNC machining, specifically 3 & 5 axis programming, setup, and operation. Experience loading and editing WorkNC or HyperMILL. Experience programming and operating Heidenhain, Fanuc, or Fidia controls, with a strong preference for Heidenhain. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with Haas Machines. Work Environment Facility that is temperature-, vibration-, and access-controlled, housing an extensive collection of cutting-edge CNC machines. The workspace is well-lit, clean, and promotes a professional, team-oriented environment. The shift runs from 6 pm to 6 am, with a 10% shift premium. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Macomb, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $52000.00/yr.
