Job Description Data Warehouse Software Engineer Remote position Competitive salary based on experience Position Overview: GDI Infotech has been asked to recruit for a Data Warehouse Software Engineer and will be responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, maintaining, and providing production support for software systems in accordance with business requirements and the technology roadmap. As a Software Engineer for the Data Warehouse Team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and enhancement of various jobs/packages that process the primary datasets for the company data warehouse that provide the various feeds to both internal and external customers. Utilizing the Microsoft data tools (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS) and your SQL development skills, you will make modifications to existing code to accommodate changing business needs and/or develop new modules and datasets when required. You will need solid SQL and ETL skills to perform your standard assignments, and the ability to work in fast-paced environments. You should be comfortable with a considerable level of complexity and able to synthesize results from multiple sources in various formats. In addition, you should be able to work alone or in small teams depending on the size of the projects. Experience in translating business needs into technical specifications will be required to complete most assignments. Job Responsibilities Leadership Requires minimal supervision for routine tasks. Help teammates develop/find their purpose Job Complexity This role involves independent tasks and partly complex tasks solved predominantly through own decision making Projects that are moderate in scope, risk, and/or organizational span, including subprojects of larger, more complex projects Requires minimal guidance from lead, supervisor, or manager Performs tasks that meet most of, but not limited to, following characteristics: Moderate process change/training to business unit employees Interdependencies with other areas. Moderate changes to technology Operational Risk: Moderate to High Required Skills: BS in Computer science or MIS preferred Achieved certification relevant to specialty 2-5 years in Health Care IT required Advanced SQL skills ETL experience, strong data modelling skills, exposure to star schema/dimensional modelling Able to work alone with minimal supervision or in small teams under tight deadlines Experience importing, standardizing, and staging datasets from multiple sources Experience programming the transition between various data states Experience translating business requirements to technical specs Familiarity with Microsoft data tools, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS and SSMS preferred Familiarity with DevOps/GIT preferred Preferred Skills: Fundamentals of software development are mastered Learning technologies and business specific to their specialty Strong communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills Demonstrates strong analytical, design, and documentation skills Healthcare industry experience preferred Proficiency with MS Office Suite, MS Project, Visio, and collaboration tools Strong multi-tasker, self-starter Developing skills as mentor Company Description GDI Infotech is a successful and community-minded Talent Matchmaking Company focused on all aspects of software development.
