Job Description:
This position is responsible for conducting, maintaining,
evaluating, and coordinating Health, Safety and Environmental
System activities in support of operations at our Taylor, MI
testing facilities. It supports ECT's efforts to prevent
non-conformances, deviations or violations, and maintain compliance
with all State, Federal, and Local regulations including, but not
limited to MIOSHA/OSHA, and EPA, while using guidance documents
from NIOSH, ACGIH, NFPA, CGA, MDEQ, JM Corporate Health and Safety
policies and industry standards as applicable. The incumbent
performs a variety of program management, regulatory and legal
record management along with other duties for the EH&S
department.Your responsibilities:Manage Environmental Program
(hazardous waste program, stormwater program, air permit reporting,
sustainability reporting, acting as a liaison with local regulatory
agencies, ensuring submission of applicable monthly, periodic and
annual reports, working with Regional and Corporate EHS personnel
on a frequent basis).Provide regulatory database and records
management for a variety of systems including SDS database
management, Intelex, Airsweb etc.Coordination of the ISO 14001
Program Elements to maintain certification.Keep appraised of
applicable EH&S and ISO changes and prepare formal plans to
adapt to these changes.Conduct and document employees' EH&S
training and educational programs, such as Respiratory Protection,
Hazard Communication, Hearing Conservation, Noise Control,
Hazardous Waste Management and other.Coordinate hygiene monitoring
of workplace environment as specified. This includes employee
exposure monitoring to chemical substances and physical agents such
as airborne contaminants and noise.Assist in the maintenance of an
OSHA compliant respiratory program.Perform and document EH&S
inspections and audits of the facility.Work in a team environment
to guide members of the maintenance, operations & engineering
departments on EH&S related issues.Participates in Risk
Assessments with all departments to determine the potential hazards
of new processes and projects (capital projects and others) and
ensure that all applicable Federal, State and Local regulations,
along with industry standards (ANSI, NFPA, ACGIH) are investigated
and communicated.Evaluate, develop and report accident statistics
for the facility.Participate in corporate internal and external
audits.Monitor and evaluate corrective actions for
effectiveness.Participate on teams targeting solutions to current
safety issues.Provide management with necessary information and
advice to make informed decisions regarding safety and health
issues.Coordinates the Behavioral Based Safety Program in
accordance with guidance provided through Regional and Corporate
EH&S.May perform other duties as assigned.Requirements for the
role:Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene,
Safety Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or similar
Science.Accreditation within a related professional discipline is
preferred. (i.e. ASP, CSP, CIH, etc.)Minimum 5 years of experience
in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, environmental
engineering, or regulatory consulting in manufacturing type
setting.Working knowledge of applicable federal, state and local
regulations.Knowledge of MIOSHA/OSHA and MDEQ regulations,
reporting and record keeping requirements.Extensive knowledge of
Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, including the ability to
create spreadsheets, charts, graphs and presentations.Knowledge of
ISO14001 standards, experience with certification
