Weekend availability is required.This position is eligible for full benefits (medical, dental & vision), 401K, paid vacation, discounted downtown parking, free employee meals, hotel and restaurant discounts and more.OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIESThe following responsibilities and duties are not all encompassing and other tasks may be assigned as needed Execute timely and courteous service to internal and external guests in his/her own station, follow strict adherence to Right Bank Wine Selections and Amway Grand Plaza policies and procedures Performs all aspects of retail sales including but not limited to greeting and welcoming customers, suggestive selling, closing the sale, and accurately completing the sale on the point-of-sale register. Greets and assists customers in an enthusiastic and courteous manner; by name when possible and provides outstanding customer service. Leads day to day supervision of wine shop and attendants - including but not limited to monitoring payroll, training new team members, and providing guidance to team. Creation of schedules which correlate to business demands and service standards. Finding solutions for day to day issues which may arise, such as call outs and guest complaints. Demonstrate positive inter-departmental relations across the hotel. Maintaining a strong team environment via clear communication and daily briefings with team. Adheres to appropriate telephone etiquette. Advises and assists customers with their choices of product for themselves and for gifts. Answers customer inquiries and provides appropriate product-related information. Contacts customers when necessary to follow-up on product inquiries. Utilizes customer-focused selling skills, add-on selling, closing skills, and other sales generating skills. Utilizes various selling techniques to increase sales. Accurately completes sales using POS system according to established procedures. Stocks and cleans the store for the best sales appearance and ease of use for the customer. Develops and maintains knowledge of all merchandise in selling area to effectively assist customers with accurate information; keeps current as new product lines are introduced. Assists with merchandising efforts, displays, and floor moves as needed. Maintains the stores Social Media account with brand voiced posts pertaining to newly arrived product, upcoming tastings, and other relevant topics - further driving sales and reputation locally. Lead weekly focused trainings adhering to Michigan law. Maintains working knowledge of products and/or services. Assure and maintain highest standard of service, sanitation and hospitality Windex, wipe down, dust, sweep floors, clean and polish, as needed. Performs other duties as assigned by manager. Work closely with store management and other employees to hospitable experience Adhere to Amway Grand Plaza uniform dress code in smart business attire and maintain a clean, professional appearance throughout shift.SHIFT DUTIESOpening/closing functions and continual maintenance of Wine Shop. Conducting weekly inventory. Creation of Purchase Orders based on previously conducted inventory & seasonal needs/demands. Receiving of new product while verifying order against Purchase Order - while carefully checking that correct product has been delivered. Receival, transport, delivery and stocking newly delivered wine and adding into inventory within the POS system. Merchandising store for optimal appearance with creation of displays and monthly focus table. Organize, plan and execute Weekly Wine Tastings. Create relevant and regularly scheduled Social Media posts. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds is required. Driving sales via up to date product knowledge and courteous behavior. Proper use of POS system. Create, analyze, and execute monthly sales reports and offer feedback/critiques of product sales.COMMUNICATIONRegular communication with manager pertaining to all on goings. Regular communication with team members pertaining to new products, upcoming tastings, guest preferences, and hotel updates. Shift recaps with pertinent information. Preparation guest/customer facing newsletter. Be aware of posted information from previous pre-shifts and follow through accordingly. Notify the manager of any guest complaint no matter how small it may seem. Notify the manager of any problems with deliveries, shortages, incorrect items. Utilize HotSOS to communicate engineering or housekeeping needs. Monitor email for guest/customer requests, deliveries, and any other outside communication.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEAny combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Previous retail and/or or restaurant experience with wine focus is preferred. Commitment to excellence and high standards. Ability to manage priorities and workflow. Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm. Excellent customer service skills. A sense of urgency pertaining to delegated tasks and customer feedback. Creative, flexible, and innovative team player. Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions. Professional appearance and demeanor. Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.
